TRAINING RESOURCES

Your best training resource, as always, is your head track or cross country coach. No one knows your unique running history and potential better than your coach, so be sure to lean on them as your primary resource.

We're here to further expand your potential as a runner by sharing the combined knowledge of the Myers brothers and the crew at the Columbus Running Company. Below are some resources we've collected so far to share with you.

Cori Kill Schulte, the 1997 Ohio State Champ in the Mile

Today, we caught up with Cori Schulte, a former Ohio state champion in the mile.  Cori tells us what it’s like to win a state title, what kind of training it took, and what advice she has for her own daughters as they follow in her footsteps.

We asked Cori to tell us about a time when things didn’t go her way, and we absolutely love her answer and her understanding for all of today’s track athletes who are losing their season.  Cori lost her own senior track season to injury, but that didn’t stop her.  She rose back up and ran in college, competing on the track and in XC before moving into coaching later in life.

An Interview with Alan Webb, presented by Myers Mile

No American runner has ever raced the mile faster than Alan Webb.  3:46.  Think about that time.  Someone could run a 3:59 mile – which is insanely fast – and Alan would beat them by a full straightaway of the track.

To be our best, we believe that you have to learn from the best.  With that idea in mind, Rob Myers called up his friend and former competitor Alan Webb to catch up and to ask him the questions that you sent us!

An Interview with 3 time USA Indoor 1500 meter National Champ – Rob Myers

Rob is a three-time USATF national champion, a 3:53 miler, and a former member of the American national team on the track.  Today, Rob coaches at Fairfield Union High School and leads the Myers Running Camp during the summer.  Check out Rob’s video below for his race strategies, training advice, mental tips, and more.
